Easter

Although Chase doesn't really understand what's happening, he was super excited for the Easter Bunny.  He's been obsessed with the movie Hop, so we've heard a lot of toddler talk about bunnies recently.  Thankfully the Easter Bunny did come, and he left Chase some toys and treats.  He got some crayons, coloring books, a toy airplane, and an airplane board book.  There were also a couple plastic eggs with M&Ms, which were probably all devoured before lunch.

It was such a beautiful day outside.  We decided that since we didn't have church in the middle of the day, we needed to go enjoy some sunshine at the park before the first session of General Conference.  Chase was really excited to be back at the park after such a long winter, and Marcus had fun playing with him.

Of course the swings were a hit.

Chase loves being underdog pushed really high.

Talking through the playground equipment

First time riding his scooter at the park -- until now he's only ridden it in our building

I love how he falls down at the end and isn't upset -- he's more annoyed his hands are dirty than that he fell.  Chase is funny like that.  He does not like dirt on his hands!

We enjoyed General Conference at home.  Chase took a long nap after playing hard at the park, so we actually were able to listen to some.  And I practiced crocheting.  It's getting better!  I have a couple projects I want to do, and my skills have a long way to go...

The rows are getting straighter :)

For Easter dinner, we decided against the traditional ham meals.  Instead we made a big cobb salad.  After all the delicious candy and chocolate we'd been eating, it was nice to have a good salad.

We also made Red Lobster cheddar rolls.  Yum.

Okay, so maybe the real reason we had a salad wasn't just the calorie intake...  We decided to use our ham budget on dessert :)

Chase was so excited!  Totally worth it!

Chase didn't quite catch the whole idea of Easter -- maybe it was our fault having a cake.  I guess cakes always mean birthday :)  At least he recognized there was something special about the day.  That's a start!

He enjoyed his slice of cake while watching the Disney movie Planes with his new airplane from his Easter basket
We had a really nice Easter at home -- pretty simple, but it was a wonderful day.

Happy Easter!
