Man, Time Flies!

So today (May 23rd) was our first anniversary! Seriously-- it's been a year already. We started our celebration a little early... only because Marcus couldn't last longer waiting for presents :)

Marcus gave me a subscription to Netflix because I watch way too many movies :) Pretty sweet! He claims he had to give it to me early because then I could set up queues for movies for today :) Dork. Haha. I really loved the present though. I kind of laughed at the practicality-- almost like the pocket knife I got for Valentine's Day last year. But then in the morning, he also surprised me with this...

So pretty! Not my neck, obviously :)

My plan was to do dinner tonight (while Marcus was in charge of making bread and dessert), so I decided the table had to be set nicely. Luckily, I love our plates and table cloth, so I only had to add the candles.

I got Marcus some fancy pants steak, BBQ tools, and a grilling cookbook. I don't have pictures of those, but I do have pictures of the magic he worked on the apartment grill...

This was with almost everything on the table. All I can say is good thing our plates are freaking enormous!

And now it is time to enjoy Marcus' amazing dessert-- pizookies! Yum! And I am doubly excited because it is the last episode of LOST. Finally!!!

Night Out with the Shields

Last weekend, we were privileged to spend the evening with Misha and Jen. We had hamburgers first, hiked the Y, and then went to Stan's for ice cream. I only have pictures from the hiking, but that was pretty monumental for me... exercise! It encouraged me to petition Marcus to start running with me, and we started that today. We made it all the way around the block this time-- progress for the "running hater" (I think that's what Marcus called me...haha). Sadly Misha and Jen are moving at the end of next month, but I'm glad we have these great memories. Hopefully a few more will come before they leave for the wonderful Valley of the Sun...

End of the 2010 Season

Tomorrow is the last day of orchestra for my class. I can't believe how fast the school year went by! Marcus can probably believe it since he was the one who would go defrost my car every morning for our 7:20 rehearsals :) I was really impressed with my little group. They worked really hard, and some improved tons! It was amazing how rewarding it was to watch/listen to them. Too bad the year is over because there are so many more things I would have liked to teach them. Hopefully the few fifth graders will be back and the sixth graders will keep up orchestra in middle school. I am gonna miss those crazy, talkative, energetic, hilarious, morning kids.
