Halloween

We had a fun Halloween.  Chase and I had obviously gone to the Saratoga Springs event, but we also had a ward party, a friend party, and Trick or Treating.

Ward Party
Check it out - no chili in our crockpot! We won the chili cook off!  Seriously!

Marcus pretended he was the teacher from Charlie Brown.  I was a spider, although technically I was the song Tarantella from our Suzuki Association of Utah fall cello activity.

Trick or Treating

I think Chase enjoyed passing out candy more than going door-to-door himself.  He was pretty entertaining.

Marcus rigged my tablet and some paper to show It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown through our front window.  It felt pretty festive :)

Happy Halloween!

Dinosaurs

We needed to get out one afternoon, so I decided to try out the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point.  I figured most little boys love dinosaurs.  Chase really did like it, but he was very concerned about the lack of skin.  He was not understanding how all the dinosaurs died and now there are bones in museums.  Honestly, it was pretty hilarious.  But he did enjoy walking around and seeing the exhibits (except the dark tunnel room - we had to avoid that one).

We'll definitely have to go again sometime, after we read some more books about dinosaurs and museums.  haha

Leaves

There are a few normal activities out here in Utah that we just never did in New York.  Raking leaves and jumping in the piles is definitely on that list.  Both Ty and Chase love the leaves.  They watch them change colors and fall off the trees, and then Chase bugs me until we rake them into piles. :)

I think Chase needs his own smaller sized rake :)

Curiosity Museum

Marcus and I decided to get a pass for Chase to Thanksgiving Point.  There's the gardens, Farm Country, the dinosaur museum, and the Curiosity Museum.  Both boys really love going to the curiosity museum.  There's so much to see and do.  Marcus has taken Chase, and I have taken the boys too.  It's great for when it's hot out, too cold, or when we just need to get out.

Ty Stands!

Ty is just a content little dude.  He has never been in a rush to move around, and finally at a little over a year old, he's decided it's time to stand on his own.  Walking, here we come!

It's the Great Pumpkin, Saratoga!

Saratoga Springs is obviously a newer, smaller city.  We live in Saratoga Springs, but we're much closer to Lehi than the center of Saratoga Springs.  (Thank you weird politics and boundaries.)  But I've been really impressed with all the city has been doing to build up and celebrate.  For Halloween, they had a big city event, which was definitely better attended than they even expected.  Chase and I went to Shay Park for their event: It's the Great Pumpkin, Saratoga!  There were a few fun activities, food trucks, and of course the playground.  He had a great time, although we didn't get food because the lines were way too long.

I'm sure we'll go next year.  Hopefully they reserve a couple more food trucks though :)  Happy Halloween!

Itty Bitty Football

One of the perks of living in Utah is that it is WAY easier to have Chase involved in sports and classes.  The commute is so much simpler, and there is a lot more offered.

After some recommendations from ward friends, I decided to check out the Lehi Legacy Center.  They have great sports classes for little kids.  Every couple months, they offer a six class program focusing on a different sport.  October's was football, and Chase LOVED it.

I bet there were fifty kids there.  They were divided into groups of 4-8 kids, and they rotated through different stations.  By the end of the program, they were playing simplified flag football games.  I was so impressed.

I'm really looking forward to basketball in January!  So is Chase ;)
