Drum Lesson

Marcus had his first drum student in years, and she was amazing! A definite sense of rhythm at her young age...

We were watching our neighbor's daughter, Emma, while they were cleaning out their apartment to move.

She's so cute. We're going to miss seeing them around all the time. (Plus, they're amazing frog-sitters!)

The lesson wiped them out...

They're both so cute :)

The big 2-3

To quote Trevor, today Marcus became "an old fart!" It was a pretty exciting day. First on the agenda was going to Mimi's Cafe. Yum!

On the way, we stopped by the Mac Store because I "got lost" and needed to turn around. We got Marcus his birthday present-- he was so surprised! Hooray for a new computer!

He spent a lot of the afternoon playing with his birthday toy :), talking to family, and eating more great birthday food at Macaroni Grill. It was fun to have a day to celebrate Marcus! Happy Birthday!

Our Adventure down the Canyon

We attempted to go long boarding down the Canyon with Jen and Misha last night. It was a lot of fun, despite the lack of actual boarding down :) I must admit that it really wasn't our fault that we struggled, even though no one will probably believe that. :)

Jen and Misha

Before the wheels started sticking

I'm not sure what he was thinking at this time :)

Misha trying to fix the longboard-- it was a ton better, but it never took anyone too far down the Canyon...

New approaches...

It's kind of fun to watch it get darker in each picture. Since the boards weren't the best, we didn't make great time. :)

Another attempt to couple board

The train-- We lifted up the back board so the wheels wouldn't have to touch the ground. It actually worked pretty well for awhile.

We were just chillin' in the back :)

Our train...

Marcus didn't really like being pushed, so then we walked probably half the way down the Canyon-- haha. A twenty minute ride ended up being a lot longer.... but we laughed a lot. Plus it was fun to hang out with the Shields before they move!

Shooting...

Laura and Mark were in town from Arizona this weekend, so Marcus and I saw them briefly on Tuesday. Lucky for Marcus, they wanted to go shooting. I agreed to go, mainly because it was a great Arizona reunion with them and the Cammacks. And it actually was fun-- Marcus had a blast! Most of my pictures are of him hitting just about everything. I had no idea he was so good-- just don't tell him I said that :)

This cracked me up--- Dustin was on the phone while people were shooting basically right behind him.

Marcus was smiling huge because I agreed to try...

Our Weekend Away

Marcus and I went to Park City this past weekend. It was a little shaky getting up there because Google Maps lied to us, but we got there just a little later than planned. It was a blast wandering around the city, eating out, swimming, going to a movie (Robin Hood), shopping, and just being outside. We wore shorts most of the weekend, and my nose changed colors from white to light pink :)

I have way more pictures of the pretty City o' Park than of the two of us...

We went to a French restaurant on Main Street for lunch-- it was so cute!

Marcus insisted on a picture of the best French food he's had :)

On Monday afternoon, we drove up to the Olympic Park. I had no idea how neat it was up there. Plus, there were some freestyle skiers practicing tricks into a pool. So awesome!

a pretty Park City view

Marcus had been dying to get a haircut, so we decided to go to a salon. It had been awhile since we'd had fancy pants haircuts, so it was fun. Marcus modeled his hair Zoolander-style because he loved it so :)

It was a fun weekend. Too bad it went by so quickly. Oh well. It was great, and now we are looking forward to the next time we can go.
