My dad came out to visit us for a few days before he heads up to Utah. It was a lot of fun to have him here. Chase obviously enjoyed having another person to drool on and wipe his food all over. Such a fun age. :)
We always enjoy having people visit. But there's something exciting about grandpas... it means little grandkids get to break all the rules and do crazy stunts :) And of course, just have a lot of fun. We went in to the city, out to Rego Park, and all around Sunnyside. It's the curse of the Mercer Mayer book. Haha.
Mom, don't look... Chase practiced standing :)
I think he really enjoyed flying up in the air
We took several walks, always sporting the new Mickey Mouse Mets hat from Times Square.
Big smile for the camera :)
I love his tongue sticking out here
And he played with french fries. (Don't worry he didn't actually eat it. Just squished it. Slobbered all over it. Mashed it. And tried to force it in his mouth.) I had to include several of these pictures because they were hilarious.
Who needs toys when you can play with a cardboard box?!
Especially since you can get it too!
One night while my dad was here, Marcus and I went out for dinner and a movie. We had a great time and saw Iron Man 3, which we both liked. Marcus even got to play a minion game at the movie theater. He was really excited.
And we brought Crumbs cupcakes for my dad's birthday. We definitely had no shortage of treats, but we had to celebrate this special day. Marcus said the candles restart at 50, so the cupcake had antennae.
And of course, some more slobber time. Chase will just soak any bib or cloth he's given.
But it makes him happy.
And a couple pictures from our Ward Talent Show. My dad went with us for a little bit before he left for the airport. Our ward is crazy talented and very entertaining. We also had a dessert auction to raise money for the YW and YM to go to their camps this summer. It did really well :) Marcus' cookies were a popular item!
Marcus was part of a pie eating contest.
And this was pretty impressive too!
The week definitely went by quickly. It was fun to have my dad here and be able to celebrate his birthday a little bit. It will be fun to see him again in just a couple weeks while we are in Utah.
