My mom wanted to take a couple MORE pictures before we left for the airport in Arizona. So here are those first:
And with that we were off. We knew it was going to be a hectic trip, and I think we were prepared for that. We had three checked bags (2 flew free--love JetBlue) and our allowed carry-ons, plus a cat, a pillow, a blanket, and a cello! NUTS! Seriously, what were we thinking?!?!?
That was way too much to carry on a plane, but JetBlue is amazing!
Just in case you're curious how the rest of this flight worked out:
So we took a red-eye leaving Phoenix at about 10:30 P.M. We got to New York bright and early. We hung out at the airport for a little bit before calling the car service. Somehow their Lincoln Towncars can fit EVERYTHING! And it was wonderful being dropped off right at the apartment.
As many of you know, we weren't allowed to sign a lease from Utah, but the broker did help us tons! She was fantastic! She told us to just inside the building when someone was leaving, and she left our apartment door unlocked. We really didn't have to wait very long for someone to leave for work, and we were able to crash in our apartment for a couple hours until the office was open to sign our lease.
Here are some pictures of our initial visit and our napping set-up :)

You'll notice the cat throughout most of these pictures.

Don't worry that everything is so empty-- it didn't stay that way for too long. Marcus was super excited when his surround sound system showed up about six weeks earlier than expected! Hooray for free gifts from credit card points :) We used it as a table for dinner, and the cat inspected the box for quite awhile.

And later that first afternoon, we went to the broker's office, which is conveniently down the street, and signed our lease! Finally, after way too much stress and a crazy move, we have an apartment!!! Woohoo!
