We had been really looking forward to Saturday afternoon. A couple months ago we bought tickets on groupon for a Chocolate Tour of New York City, and we had been counting down. It was about two hours long, walking through parts of Chelsea and Soho. We tried some amazing chocolate and other treats while visiting seven famous shops. And Chase was even surprisingly good. I think it's because we let him have some of the frosting. (I listed the names of the shops and what we sampled.)
Ready to start our tour |
Part of the neighborhood |
1. The Chocolate Bar -- dark chocolate pieces
2. Li-Lac Chocolates -- dark chocolate and toffee
That's a chocolate horse drawn carriage |
3. Magnolia Bakery -- mini chocolate cupcakes
We had some really great chocolate cupcakes, which Chase enjoyed several bites of frosting, but we also got some amazing banana pudding to help wash down all the chocolate. :) |
Check out the cuteness between Magnolia and our next stop |
Recognize that building????!?!?!? |
hint #1: "So no one told you life was going to be this way..." |
hint #2: this establishment below the apartment building should be Central Perk Coffee House! |
Side view of the apartment building in FRIENDS! I really hope you guessed it :) |
And check out this street-- the second building from the right is the most narrow apartment. It was owned by several famous people over the years but just sold again for MILLIONS of dollars! |
4. Milk & Cookies Bakery -- double chocolate cookie
Chase had to hydrate. |
Inside the shop |
Check out all that chocolate in the cookie |
Then we passed by the other Ottomanellis. Yum. |
5. Bisous, Ciao -- chocolate macaroon
This picture is for our macaroon-addict of the family, Cozette |
Oh wait, that was only half of them! |
Along the next part of the walk |
6. Xocolatti -- white chocolate with pepper and jelly
boxes of chocolates along the walls |
7. Bruno Bakery -- cannoli
There were chocolate chips inside |
All three of us in a picture at the end of the tour |
Marcus' post chocolate model shot |
Wow! That looks like a perfect way to spend a couple hours in your neck of the woods. Loved this post and the three tasters most of all. Thank you.
