Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Marcus and I went to see my cousin Shelby in the Draper Arts Council's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  It was so much fun!  Shelby is amazing at everything she does, and the entire show was fantastic.  We had a blast, and I promise no one sang along too loudly :)

They had a camel as part of the show, which was awesome!

I love this show so much.

Shake Shack

Jana, Corie, and Cadie came out to New York for the weekend, so we arranged to meet up.  I took Chase and Ty into the city to meet them at one of our favorite places: Shake Shack.  Chase loves the Black and White shakes, so he was super excited (and very well behaved) during our commute.

I told him I wanted a picture of him smiling before he could have a shake, and this is what I got.

Finally, he relaxed a little bit.  We call this his "I want a shake at Shake Shack" face.

Yum :)

Ty also wanted to try Shake Shack

Chase had a blast playing with Jana.  They both giggled (and snorted) the entire time.

Chase also decided that "Pick me up" was a fun game.

He surprised everyone with his compact weight!

Happy Shake Shack-ers

Pulling Jana.  One of the kind Shake Shack employees gave Chase that little football.
Come on, Jana!

And they were off!

On the train heading back home.  Ty was in the carrier, and Chase read every sign between Grand Central and home.

Thanks for visiting!

Soccer Rocker

Chase likes a show on Netflix that sings a song about a Soccer Rocker "who rocks at soccer."  When he saw Corie had a soccer ball at her house, he wanted to go outside and be a soccer rocker too.  Corie helped him kick the ball around the yard - he did get distracted a few times with "scary bushes" and then a gate that looked like a farm door (because he wanted to let the pigs out).  Funny little guy.  He had a really fun time running and kicking the soccer ball.  It took about three minutes of our drive home before he was asleep :)

Chase definitely is a cute soccer rocker!

Birthday Celebrations

Since Chase and I were only in Utah for a couple days, we decided the best way to see the most people would be to have a family picnic in the park.  Conveniently enough, we planned it for that Saturday, my birthday!  It was a really fun afternoon and a beautiful day!  Everyone brought some food, and we had some birthday dessert.  We had a great time!  Such a fun excuse to spend time with amazing people, including some Pages, Hardys, Morins, and Nielsens.

Yummy bundt cake dessert.
We had gotten bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes.  They are amazing!  We bought a chocolate chocolate-chip and a white chocolate raspberry.  Definitely look them up -- yum!  And they can be decorated all fancy.  So fun!

And there was Chase off in the corner by himself... :)

Blowing out the candles.  They only put eight on the cakes :)

Marcus had sent some beautiful roses for me with his brother.
A great surprise!

Chase was super busy with his lap top.

Concentrating Hard.

And when we got home, Marcus had another birthday surprise!
Perfume, headphones, and an iPad promissory note.

The perfume is called Hypnotic Poison.  It's an Epcot exclusive that we smelled while we were on vacation there.  It smells incredible!

Then when I went to YW on Tuesday, the girls made me a cake and a candy-gram!  That was a really fun surprise!

It was a lot of fun being able to celebrate my birthday with so many family members (and of course the girls at church)!  Definitely the biggest party I've ever had, though I'm sure having an out of town baby there was the biggest pull for everyone to attend :)

Corie and Cadie Visit

Two of my cousins came out to see NY and stayed with us for a week.  Honestly, both Marcus and I worked a lot, but it was fun having Corie and Cadie here.  We obviously don't have tons of room, but hopefully they never felt too cramped.  And I was so impressed with all they did every day-- tours around the city, Central Park, museums, 9/11 Memorial, Long Island, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, ...  Thank goodness the weather wasn't too bad (and of course, our AC for when they got back in the evenings).  It was fun hearing about their days and adding to my list of things to do in New York :)

Our luxury accommodations :)  I took a quick picture before I left one morning.  Ashley slept on the air mattress on the other side of the table.  Hopefully it was okay for a week...

Like I said, we weren't really around very much, but we did get to catch up a little bit here and there.  It was fun to have them in town.  Even Chicago loved it!  And they were so sweet to leave a little thank you gift.  Our Critter is being so stinking spoiled.  :)  He'll be one stylist little dude!
