Finishing 2016 with the Suns

Marcus and I had talked about going to a Suns game in New York City the entire time we lived there, but we never were able to make that happen.  When we moved to Utah, we decided we'd definitely be able to go to a Jazz vs. Suns game.  Marcus looked up their schedule and saw that they played on New Years Eve, so we decided to celebrate the new year with the Suns (and the Jazz).

This picture doesn't do our seats justice

It was a fun game!  The Suns almost had it several times, but they lost it in the last few minutes.  Bummer.  Next time ;)

We enjoyed a delicious Iceburg shake during the game.

And don't worry, the boys enjoyed the night with Noni & Grandpa.

And none of us made it all the way until midnight...

Christmas with the Hardys

We spent most of Christmas with Marcus' family.  His brother Paden was in town from California with his family, so Chase and Ty got to play with their favorite (and only) cousin.

On Christmas Eve, we went to the Utah Symphony concert.  They were playing the soundtrack to the first Harry Potter movie.  We watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone while they did the music live.  It was really great.

I thought I had more pictures of Christmas, but apparently in my blogging craze (since I was catching up from over three months), I can only find one of each boy.

When we got home, Chase and Marcus began their Lego building.  They were both really looking forward to building their new Lego sets.

Vox Humana Concerts

I was asked to play in a quartet accompanying a women's ensemble called Vox Humana.  It's a Saratoga Springs group that branched off when the Saratoga Springs Community Orchestra was established.  I thought the singing was really great, and it was fun to play in a quartet.  It's been awhile.

We had two concerts.  The first was at a creche festival in Eagle Mountain, and the second was at the Assembly Hall in Temple Square.  Marcus and I made that one a date night so he could come watch :)

It was a fun Christmasy night with great lights and music.

Hogle Zoo

Chase, Ty, and I went to Hogle Zoo with Gram, Trevor, and Logan.  It was a fun day at the zoo, and the animals were all out.  Chase did a pretty good job of looking at the different exhibits, although his favorite is always the train.

Matt's Dinner

Our friend Matthew was in town for his birthday from New York.  He invited his friends who have moved from NY to UT out to dinner at the Rooftop of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  I had actually never been to dinner there before!

And I'd go again just for this delicious salad!

Of course the view isn't bad either! :)

I don't have any pictures of the group, but it was a great group of friends: several Westovers, the Busbys, Turley, Matt, and us.  I think it should become an annual tradition!

Salt Lake

I've gotten a little behind in blog posts, so here are a few pictures from when we were staying with the Hardys.  They're not really organized, but I thought they are worth posting :)

Saturday night, we went to the Utah Symphony concert with Marcus' parents, his brother Derek, and Derek's finacee Lindsey.  The program was titled "Let's Dance!" and featured a lot of great singers and dancers.

Hogel Zoo

Friday, we went to Hogel Zoo in Salt Lake City.  Chase had been really looking forward to the animals, but once he saw the train, that's all he wanted to do.  There were lots of baby animals around, and the weather was really nice... which explains the sunburn on my neck.

Checking out the giraffe

Comparing his size to the monkeys, and then he couldn't stand anymore (???)

Watching the elephants

Finally on the train - I told Chase to smile, and this is what I got ;)
