Ty Stands!

Ty is just a content little dude.  He has never been in a rush to move around, and finally at a little over a year old, he's decided it's time to stand on his own.  Walking, here we come!

Haircut

Chase has always been difficult on the subject of haircuts.  But for some reason, Pops + Nelson's Barber Shop was the perfect combination.

Heading to Nelson's

Sitting in the chair, like a boss

Trying to decide if it's okay to have a haircut

Getting nervous

Enjoying watching Chase's haircut with his own lollipop

Holding a lollipop always helps :)

Chillin' outside supporting his new 'do
Hopefully this is the first of many successful haircuts! :)

Sunbeams

We have an official SUNBEAM!

Chase was really great going to primary.  I was a little worried he'd have a difficult time not playing in nursery, but he was crazy excited taking the elevator up to the primary room.  He went right in and picked a chair next to one of the other primary kids.

Choosing a Chair

Our Sunbeam!

I anticipated a rambunctious boy who wouldn't sit still, but he did a great job for his first day!  There were amazing great leaders in the room (who really understand energetic children).  Plus, his first day was also the first day for two of his friends, Winnie and Pippa.  I didn't stay in primary, but I did peek in the window a few times.  I had to watch the first little bit of fun, which was singing time with Pippa's mom, Kristy.

And a short clip of singing time that I took through the window...

And then our little Chase was off to class, just like the big kids.  ***tear***

Christmas Food

Marcus and I were really looking forward to our menu for Christmas day.  Keeping some traditions and making some of our own.  And it all turned out great!

Prepping Omelettes

Marcus' cooking bacon for omelettes

And we were able to enjoy our breakfast as Chase was more than occupied with his new toys and games

It's picture perfect!

Ty also got a fancy new meal: RICE CEREAL!

Considering the new food...

Yeah, he wasn't a fan.  All the pictures were pretty gross.  Let's just say, not much went to his stomach.  Hopefully he'll do better over the next few days!

For dinner, we decided to make corn chowder in bread bowls and a salad with apples and grapes.
Marcus made those bread bowls from scratch!  No joke! #myhusbandcooks

We had a delicious Christmas!

Ty Rolls Over

Finally caught him on camera!

And my favorite part is the brotherly encouragement

Brothers Bonding

I was getting ready to feed Ty his bottle, and Chase asked to help.  I jumped on that since Chase never really wants anything to do with Ty beyond looking at him, grabbing diapers, and telling me Ty pooped.  This time, he helped mix up the formula and then asked to feed Ty!  So I helped him sit on the couch and put Ty in his lap.  From there, Chase completely took over.

This one is my favorite.  A focused older brother.

I love this video clip.  Watch Ty's little hand :)

And then he wanted to help some more, but his interest quickly faded.  Probably for the best because Ty was still hungry and was only given the very top portion of his bottle.  Plus Chase wanted to help clear out his sinuses...

And Ty loved every second.

Ty's First Sunday at Church

While Cozette was here,  I was a little more adventurous about going outside.  We made it all the way (about six blocks) to the pediatrician one day, and then on Sunday we went to church.  On the way there, Marcus took Chase on the train, and Cozette, Ty, and I took an Uber.  Chase joined us in the car on the way home.  It actually went pretty smoothly.  I was anticipating the worst, but we did it!

In his NEW car seat

Sweetly sitting in the car

I'm still shocked at his dark hair - it's so soft and cute

Napping during YWs

I still have two big bruises on my arms from shots in the hospital.
One of the YW decided she needed to kiss it better.  Thanks... :)

Trying to get a picture with Chase, but he was way too tired after church to even look up

Yay -- we lived through the first eleven days of two kids!

Chase's Buzz

Marcus and I decided Chase needed a haircut.  It wasn't super, super long, but it was getting think and stinky.  I didn't want to take him somewhere and pay when I knew he wouldn't like it, so I busted out our hair cutting kit and attempted the buzz cut one morning.  I did prepare by locking Chase in his high chair, turning on his favorite show, and opening a bag of M&Ms.  Somehow, it was actually pretty successful.

The thick, stinky locks

Apparently realizing what's coming
Blonde hair falling

The realization his hair was being cut...

He did like to see the new hair cut, but it made him mad.

Helping me vacuum up his hair

Playing with the Beep Beep aka vacuum

The Diaper Bum boy with his short hair

The back still needs a little help, but it's all we could manage

And twenty second later, he was happy, playing with his trains.
I think he looks way older with his short hair.  Makes me a little sad.  But I also think he likes it because it's so much cooler.

Fire Escape Fridge

Sometimes you live in a really, really old apartment...

Sometimes you have a light in your bathroom that also has issues for weeks...

Sometimes the light basically explodes and leaves a big burned mark...

Sometimes your super forgets to follow up when he gets back in town...

Sometimes you have a crappy fridge that you've reported for leaking and having other issues for months and months...

Sometimes said fridge keeps being horrible for even more months and months...

Sometimes the fridge is plugged into an outlet that becomes questionable one day...

Sometimes your lame fridge dies...

Sometimes the outlet dies...

Sometimes you just don't know what to do...

But you want to save your food.

Because you just went grocery shopping yesterday!

Sometimes you put your food out on your fire escape because it's still so freaking cold outside...

This is what it looks like out on the fire escape --
everything as secure from squirrels, pigeons, and cats as we could make it

Thanks, Angela, for helping us come up with the idea to use the cold weather to our advantage ;)
