Six Years

Despite what Marcus put on Facebook, I didn't forget it was our anniversary.  We just didn't make any real plans to go out or something since it was right after we got back in town.  (Now, my parents, Brian & Courtney, and Marcus and I all have anniversaries within a week and a half.  Memorial Day weekend is a popular time for Page weddings apparently.)  Instead we ordered in some dinner and have planned to buy new cell phones when we find ones we like.  Yeah, not the best anniversary, but hey, practical isn't bad either.

I didn't completely drop the ball though.  I saw on Facebook a cute keychain a friend bought on Etsy for her and her husband for their 7th Anniversary.  Marcus always mocks me for not being sentimental, so I decided we needed these too :)  Copper is actually the gift for 7 years, not 6, but I figure we are starting our 7th year, so it totally counts.

Super cool, right?  Look closely at the engraving.

And for the record, I did get us matching bracelets for our anniversary when Marcus came out to New York on his internship, but the aren't in the best shape anymore.

Mine was blue, and Marcus' was green...

We're cute and match! :)

Five Years

Friday was our 5th anniversary.  I can't believe it.  Four years doesn't sound like much, even six years doesn't sound that much more impressive-- but there's something about five.  Obviously Marcus and I had the same thought as we both ended up getting each other a special present that was over our designated budget :)

Marcus got me a beautiful five ring necklace.  He definitely put a lot of thought into this symbolic gift!  Way to go, Marcus ;)
I took this picture from the website because it shows how pretty the necklace really is.

I decided a few months back I was going to clean up our tiny kitchen a bit in order to get Marcus a KitchenAid.  He's been wanting one for years, but we could never really justify it.  Not enough counter space was definitely one of the main issues since being in New York.  So I decided to make room! :)
Before

After

Isn't it so pretty?! :)

Then we had to wait for Marcus to get home from work to see the surprise.  I was hoping he hadn't guessed what I'd done-- I tried to be super sneaky about this gift :)  The office closed early for the holiday weekend, so luckily it wasn't too long waiting.  Just enough time for Chase to have a lollipop and a short walk down the street.

And then my anticipated moment:

I think Marcus likes his gift :)

I had also gotten a Groupon for tickets to the Mets v. Diamondbacks game, so we continued celebrating by going to Citi Field.

Our seats were in the outfield but under a covering.  It had rained a little earlier, and you can see the row in front of us had gotten wet.  Luckily we were safe...

Marcus was really excited when he found a Blue Smoke BBQ next to the Shake Shack.

Not your average baseball game meal.

Oh, but he loved it!
But then the angry clouds moved in...

And they had to cover the infield.

Rain Delay :(
We waited around for about two hours hoping they'd be able to finish, but after a few times walking around the stadium, and the weather started getting really cold, we decided to head home.  It was still fun to get about four innings of the game and now a voucher to go to another game!

Happy 5th Anniversary, Marcus!

...And it was also an exciting day because my brother Brian proposed to his girlfriend, Courtney.  Congratulations, Brian & Courtney!
I stole this picture from Facebook, so sorry if you've already seen it.  But I love it.  You hardly get a picture of Brian with such a genuine smile :)  Yay for more Page girls!!!

Marcus' Weekend Visit

I was going through our pictures from this weekend to make a blog about Marcus visiting from New York. Of course, all our pictures are of food and presents. But I'm okay with that. It was great having him here for a couple days. We went to dinner, saw a movie, bought our cat a new toy, walked around the mall, bought me some shirts for work, went to Costco, played with our crazy cat, watched some Potter, and of course, ate some cupcakes.

Yum! These are from Cupcake Chic by Costco. I obviously didn't make them. They're too perfect. Anyway, I think I may have a cupcake problem.

We decided to go out for our anniversary this weekend. It was a no brainer-- Texas Roadhouse. (This picture is actually from the very first time we went months ago, but I found it on my ghetto phone while searching for those cupcake pictures.)

We did kind of celebrate on our actual anniversary. Marcus knew what he was getting, but he had to wait a week to get it here in Utah. I was so surprised when his friend Nick had dropped this off at work last Monday.

mmmm... Red Velvet. With cream cheese frosting. I ate that instead of the dinner I had packed. Best. Gift. Ever. Maybe except my early birthday present, which I'll blog about in July after we go see it.
And here's Marcus' present. The cat had to inspect it first. Naturally.
Marcus loves it. Even though he asked for one and knew it was coming. Thanks BBB!
**notice-- new clothes, same vacuum. Yes, he vacuumed no less than four times over the weekend.**
It was so great having him here (vacuuming). :) It was doubly sad to see him leave, but this means the next time I see him, I'll be in NEW YORK!!!! gasp!

Two Years

Happy 2nd Anniversary Marcus!

...let's be honest, if you were here, I probably would've made something like these:

After two years, at least my cupcake abilities have gotten better. See you soon :)

Man, Time Flies!

So today (May 23rd) was our first anniversary! Seriously-- it's been a year already. We started our celebration a little early... only because Marcus couldn't last longer waiting for presents :)

Marcus gave me a subscription to Netflix because I watch way too many movies :) Pretty sweet! He claims he had to give it to me early because then I could set up queues for movies for today :) Dork. Haha. I really loved the present though. I kind of laughed at the practicality-- almost like the pocket knife I got for Valentine's Day last year. But then in the morning, he also surprised me with this...

So pretty! Not my neck, obviously :)

My plan was to do dinner tonight (while Marcus was in charge of making bread and dessert), so I decided the table had to be set nicely. Luckily, I love our plates and table cloth, so I only had to add the candles.

I got Marcus some fancy pants steak, BBQ tools, and a grilling cookbook. I don't have pictures of those, but I do have pictures of the magic he worked on the apartment grill...

This was with almost everything on the table. All I can say is good thing our plates are freaking enormous!

And now it is time to enjoy Marcus' amazing dessert-- pizookies! Yum! And I am doubly excited because it is the last episode of LOST. Finally!!!
