Some of Noni's Pictures

Like I do best, I stole some more pictures.  These come from Cozette.  She was in town for the past almost two weeks helping, and of course she had a ton of pictures.  Here's a sampling of what she captured.

Almost holding the bottle :)

More pictures of his first bath in the tub
(usually I use a bath mat on his changing table, but we've tried to bathe him both ways)

Taking his vitamins

He loves his foot rubs with lotion

Wrapped in his towel

More pictures of Chase chillin' and making faces

Getting big

Yesterday, he would not calm down until I held him with his cheek smashed on mine...

...and then he fell asleep quickly.

Getting Our Nerd On

Marcus' good BYU friend Steve, who conveniently now lives across the street, received four passes to Comic Con from his work, so Steve, his wife Ariel, Marcus, and I decided to go get our nerd on and people watch.  And you know what, it actually was a lot of fun.  We mostly wandered around looking at all the people in costumes and through the aisles of booths, but we were exhausted after a couple hours.  There was so much going on-- it was definitely a new world.  Since we saw so much in such a short time, I'll just narrate through the pictures I have.  But you can imagine the crazy costumes and crowds.

We technically had Press Passes, so I won't lie, I felt pretty cool.  :)

The Show Floor

Gandolf in Lego form!

We saw Sean Astin (Sam from Lord of the Rings), but no autograph because it was crazy expensive.

Tom Felton (Malfoy) had been there too, but again, very expensive, and he left earlier in the evening.  Sad day.

Had to take a picture of the Camaro since... it's beautiful... and our passes came from Chevrolet.

Bumblebee!

One of our favorite cartoonists was there selling/signing his books.  I thought I had snagged a picture of him too, guess not.  But we were pretty excited to get an actual copy of our favorite cat comics signed by The Oatmeal himself!

A Quidditch Tournament

And some more crazy lego creations:

See, so much to look at!  Fun for everyone.  Who would've known?!  :)  But we had a really enjoyable time.  We were glad Steve and Ariel invited us to go along.  And that made two big nights out this week-- thankfully we've had a great babysitter here to stay with our little guy.

And for your teaser picture, look who's now totable...

Yep, that's little Chase in a baby carrier, and he seems to really like it.
(Plus, the subway is so much less daunting now...)

Just like Daddy

We received a fun present in the mail from Marcus' Oma and Opa this past week.

His Oma made Chase this super cute quilt with a personalized insignia:

Look how cute it (and he) is!

She made it similarly to how I made Marcus' blanket for Christmas two years ago.  It's all pieces of jeans, including some of Marcus' old pants that were in his quilt.  He's just like his daddy :)

I know he's making a stinker face, but I thought the picture was too funny not to include.

We love the quilt!  Thank you so much!!!

Carnegie Hall

On Monday night, one of my good friends from Arizona, Nick Villalobos, called me because he was in town on a concert tour with the Sphinx Virtuosi.  They were having a concert in Carnegie Hall on Tuesday (last night), and he had tickets if Marcus and I could attend.  Heck yes, we wanted to go!  So we had our first post-baby date in Manhattan.  And it was fantastic!

Marcus and I met downtown after he got off work and had a fancy dinner.  By that I mean Subway :)  It was one of few options that we had time for since the concert started at six.  But it was still fun to be out.  We ate on some steps across the street from the Hall.

Yum, yum

It was actually pretty cold outside-- you can see my hair blowing in the cold wind.

I picked up the tickets from the box office, and we were really excited about the concert.  If you aren't familiar with the Sphinx organization, definitely look it up.  People like Yo-Yo Ma and Isaac Stern have been involved, and it is really a fun concert-- focusing on music by African American and Latino composers.  Marcus was really enjoying the fun rhythms and not-quite-so-classical feel.  :)

 Carnegie Hall

There's Nick in the program :)

If you haven't been to Carnegie Hall, you have to check it out.  It's beautiful.  Marcus said it reminded him of the inside of a temple with the light painting and gold trim.  Neither one of us had been inside before, so obviously we had an incredible first experience!

The stage

We were even more thrilled when we got inside and found our seats... We had tickets to sit in one of the  box seats.  Nick definitely spoiled us, probably without even realizing it.  :)

See how happy we were!

There's almost the stage behind us.
(Phone pictures just don't capture what you need them to consistently.)

It really was terrific, if you hadn't gotten that gist already :)  We both had a really fun evening and loved the music.  Plus it was a blast to see Nick again.  Such a great experience!!!

Just in case you were wondering about Chase (who spent the evening home with his wonderful Noni), or maybe you are upset that I blogged about something besides him, here's a fun teaser picture...
